Pakistan calls for negotiated peace to end Afghan war

At the United Nations, Pakistan has reiterated its stance for a negotiated peace to end the long war in Afghanistan and restore stability in the region.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the world body, Dr. Maleeha Lodhi while speaking in the debate on Afghanistan in Security Council said international community is unanimous in its view that sustainable peace is only achievable through a negotiated end to the war.

She said it is evident after years of war that neither Kabul and the coalition nor Taliban can impose a military solution on each other.
