Passenger vehicles issued challans

KAMALIA  – Dozens of poorly maintained buses and vans, lacking standard CNG kits and route permits were issued challans here the other day. During inspection of the vehicles, Motor Vehicle Examiner (MVE) Muhammad impounded some of the vehicles and got FIRs registered against the owners. Talking to media, the MVE said that those who endanger the lives of people do not deserve any leniency. He said substandard CNG gas cylinders can cause a big tragedy at any time and the vehicles carrying these cylinders cannot be allowed to run on roads. He said operation is underway against the transporters who fleece passengers and do not possess route permits.


A team of Revenue Department demolished encroachments established along the wall of Govt Girls Elementary School, Kamalia. The operation was conducted on the orders of the Kamalia assistant commissioner. He had received a complaint from the school principal so he ordered the operation. Cases had also been registered against the encroachers at the City police station.
