Shahzeb murder case: Court accepts Shahrukh Jatoi’s bail

A Session court accepted the bail of Shahrukh Jatoi and other three convicts in Shahzeb murder case today.

The court ordered all four convicts to submit Rs. 0.5 million each as surety bonds.

According to details, the father of Shahzeb requested the court not only to drop the charges against them but also to release them on bail.

He also submitted the pardon documents in the court. “We forgave the murderes of our son for sake of Allah,” he stated.

Jatoi and Siraj Talpur were awarded death penalty by an Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) in 2012 for murderer of 20-year-old Shahzeb over a petty issue. Meanwhile, Siraj Talpur’s younger brother Sajjad Ali Talpur and accomplice Ghulam Murtaza Lashari were handed life sentences.

A couple of months after the sentences, parents of Shahzeb pardoned Jatoi and his accomplices but death penalty remained upheld on corruption charges.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) last month however, set aside the death penalty and ordered a retrial after Jatoi’s lawyer submit application argued that his client was a juvenile at the time of incident hence he cannot be tried under terrorism charges.
