Roots IVY College and LCCA sign MoU
LAHORE (PR): Roots IVY International College and London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) have signed an MoU to bring the world’s finest fashion education to Pakistan.
In a signing ceremony in central London, Khadija Mushtaq, CEO of Roots IVY Education Groupm signed MoU with London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA), to offer prestigious BA Fashion Design and BA Luxury, Fashion Business and Marketing awarded by Mod’Art International Paris, exclusively with Roots IVY in Pakistan. Mod’Art International is the top French School of Fashion with an international calling, training future leaders and top professionals of the textile, accessories and luxury industries.
Together with LCCA’s strong links with fashion and luxury industry in Europe and Roots IVY’s outstanding teaching quality and reputation in Pakistan, it provides fascinating opportunity to HND Fashion students in Pakistan to progress to the final year of BA Fashion Design from Mod Art International Paris. The scope of the collaboration also include offering a three-year BA Luxury, Fashion Business and Marketing degree awarded by Mode Art International Paris. The collaboration shall help Roots IVY Pakistan students with better chance to secure internships and jobs with leading International fashion designers including Christian Dior, Jimmy Choo, D &G, Gucci etc and also help Pakistani fashion students to showcase their talent at a global level.
PSO, Shahid Afridi Foundation join hands
KARACHI (PR): PSO CSR Trust (PSO) and Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) have joined hands in their resolve to ensure continued provision of education for future generations of Pakistan. Under the memorandum of understanding signed between both the organizations, PSO confirmed a financial support of Rs 3.25 million to SAF’s Malikpur, Lahore School Campus for a period of one year. Hundreds of students from deserving background will benefit from this partnership. Chairman PSO CSR Trust, Yacoob Suttar and Global Chairman SAF, Shahid Khan Afridi, signed and exchanged the MoU documents. Zeshan Afzal, Global CEO, SAF, Shahzad Safdar and Imran Rana, members of the PSO CSR Trust and senior officials from both sides were present to observe proceedings from the ceremony.
Cars assembly plant for Hyundai brand vehicles
LAHORE (PR): Hyundai Nishat Motor Private Limited (HNMPL) is a green-field investment which will set up a cars assembly plant for Hyundai brand vehicles including cars and light commercial vehicles in M3 Industrial City, Faisalabad. Hyundai Nishat Motor will also establish nationwide distribution network of sales and after-sales services. The project is being set up as a joint venture between Nishat Group Companies and one of the leading trading and investment houses of Japan M/S, Sojitz Corporation. This multi-million dollar project cost is going to attract a sizeable portion of its equity from foreign channels.
Hyundai Motor Company from South Korea will be the technology partner in the project. Hyundai is one the leading car manufacturers and amongst the fastest growing auto brands in the recent history. The company together with its associates, is now the 5th largest auto manufacturer in the world. Hyundai manufactures a wide range of products from compact cars to heavy commercial vehicles. Its manufacturing plants are located in 11 countries and its vehicles are sold in 193 countries globally. Hyundai also has the honor to operate the world’s largest integrated manufacturing plant in Ulsan, South Korea with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million units.
This state-of-the-art assembly plant has been designed to deliver the best-in-class hi-tech Hyundai vehicles to Pakistani consumers. The promise will be delivered by installing contemporary hardware, software and skills enhancement programs to develop quality workforce with the help of technology principals. The project is expected to spur significant economic activity through creation of thousands of jobs and import substitution. The project intends to localize substantial number of automotive parts with the support of local vendor industry which will also benefit from the latest Korean technology.
This project is going to be a major breakthrough for the automotive sector. It is a manifestation of the success of the New Entrants incentive envisaged in the Automotive Development Policy of 2016.The timeline for the completion of this project is 2 years. The plant has been designed to achieve an annual production capacity of up to 30,000 units per annum.
MoU signed for National Outreach Programme
LAHORE (PR): DWP Group and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the sponsorship of 100% scholarships to the needy students, through the LUMS – National Outreach Programme Session 2018. A formal ceremony was organized at LUMS, where the agreement was signed by Muhammad Farooq Naseem – CEO of DWP Group, and Professor DR. S. Sohail H. Naqvi, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, in presence of other officials from DWP and LUMS. DWP has committed to support this programme, through which LUMS offers a scholarship endowment to those brilliant students, who are determined to enhance their knowledge and further develop their skills for a successful and brighter future.

Engro Foods MD inaugurates state-of-the art lecture hall at UVAS
LAHORE (PR): Managing Director Engro Foods Ltd Ali Ahmad Khan has inaugurated state-of-the art Lecture Hall renovated by Engro Foods at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in City Campus.
UVAS & Engro Foods have already signed an MoU for the promotion of science-based linkages between academia and industry offering mutual good to both entities and help to address challenges and create opportunities for the well-being of society. Engro Foods and UVAS agreed to further strengthen mutual beneficial relationship to provide financial and technical assistance to the talented students in terms of merit scholarship or gold medals for position holders, supporting research in dairy sector, student internships and to utilize technical capabilities in product innovation and improvement. Both the parties will also be collaborating in developing workable business model of Minimum Pasteurization Law for ensuring the safe milk and dairy products availability at households.
It is also worth mentioning that since being taken over majority share of Engro Foods by Friesland Campina, which is largest farmer owned dairy cooperative in world, Engro Foods has started paying much more attention on collaborations benefiting the dairy value chain in longer term. PKLI&RC inks MoU with APPNA
LAHORE (PR): Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Center (PKLI&RC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) for improving the standard of healthcare for the people of Pakistan.
Under the MOU, PKLI&RC and APPNA will work together to establish locum positions in various departments of PKLI, to collaborate in medical education and trainings of clinical staff, to strengthen indigenous research at PKLI, and to arrange clinical rotations for medical workforce working at PKLI campus in America.
President and CEO PKLI&RC Dr Saeed Akhter said that PKLI and APPNA will also team up for the creation of a strong prevention and treatment program in all the provinces of Pakistan.
Dr Iqbal Zafar Hamid, President APPNA, said, “I am truly blessed and honored to be associated with PKLI and our APPNA members are very eager to do whatever they can for the poor people of Pakistan.”
Pak Suzuki MD awarded scholarships
KARACHI (PR): Under CSR, First Lower Secondary Scholarship ceremony was held at Pak Suzuki Motor Company the other day. Masafumi Harano, Managing Director Pak Suzuki, awarded 50 scholarships consisted of stationery, school bag, water bottle, lunch box and uniform set, to six government schools position holder students. Pak Suzuki senior officials and government schools principals also attended the ceremony.
