I’m as popular as ever: Nawaz

LAHORE –  Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said the disqualification verdict has not brought down his popularity graph and people love him as much as they did before the Supreme Court verdict.

During a meeting with MPA Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar and his son Faisal Saiful Malook Khokhar at Jati Umra on Saturday, the former prime minister said the PML-N had honoured all promises it had made before the general elections of 2013. He said that development projects were being completed on a fast pace in line with the promise of the PML-N government. He said that some people had presumed that his disqualification had ousted him from politics, but he was as popular today as he was before. He said he was very much in politics and people would vote the PML-N to victory in the 2018 general elections. He vowed to ensure sanctity of the vote and said the PML-N victory in the next election would surprise his opponents.

Sharif said his party had always served people and it would continue to do so after winning the upcoming general elections. He said that masses were all praise for what they were getting as a result of development and progress in the country under the PML-N government.

Maryam Nawaz was also present during the meeting where the prevailing political situation and development projects in the PP-160 constituency also came under discussion.
