Man kills wife over family dispute

Rawalpindi – A man gunned down his wife outside DSP Gujar Khan Office on Saturday when she and her mother were returning from a court of law after attending the hearing of a land dispute case, informed sources and eyewitnesses.

The woman was identified as Khalida Tariq. The killer Tariq Mehmood managed to escape the scene.

According to sources and eyewitness, Khalida Tariq and her mother were passing near DSP Gujar Khan Office when her husband opened indiscriminate firing on her. As a result, she sustained fatal bullet injuries and died. Rescue 1122 moved the dead body to hospital for post-mortem. 

The reason behind the murder was told to be family dispute. The police managed to arrest the killer Tariq Mehmood along with weapon he had used in the crime.

 

DSP Gujar Khan Circle Sardar Babar Mumtaz and SHO PS Gujar Khan Ishtiaq Cheema were unavailable for comment on the matter.

 

In a separate incident, the personnel of intelligence agencies along with police have conducted a search operation in Railway Scheme 1 and took three suspects into custody after they failed to prove their identity to the law enforcers, informed a police spokesman.

He said the police held the three men for not producing CNICs and shifted them to police station for further investigation.

 

Meanwhile, police found a dead body of a man from Bahter Bridge in Wah Cannt. The Rescue 1122 shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem. However, the identity of the deceased has not yet been ascertained. According to police investigators, unidentified killers have thrown the dead body on Bahter Bridge after killing him.
