Won’t launch any anti-judiciary campaign like PML-N: Sharjeel Memon
Former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said Saturday that he will not launch any campaign against judiciary like Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Talking to media, Memon said ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s politics has been buried and he will never get succeeded in his aims. Nawaz Sharif wants to become political martyr, he added.
Ex-minister said that Sharif family distributes sweets when verdict comes in their favor while they abuse judiciary when they are being sentenced. He said he also has reservations on court’s decision but it does not mean that he should stand against it.
Earlier, Memon challenged his detention in an accountability court in Karachi. In a petition submitted by the PPP leader, he adopted stance that his arrest warrants were not issued on October 23, therefore; the detention should be declared illegal and unlawful confinement.
Memon was presented before the court along with other suspects in a corruption case pertaining to the award of advertisements at exorbitant rates through the abuse of his power.
