Earthquake jolts parts of KP, Fata

PESHAWAR – An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 on Richter scale jolted various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on Sunday but no causality or property loss was reported.

According to geological wing of the PMD, tremours of 4.9 magnitude were felt in Peshawar, Swat, Malakand Agency, Lower Dir, Shangla, Buner, and surrounding areas.

People of the areas where the tremour felt fled their homes reciting verses from Holy Quran but no human or property loss was reported from anywhere.

The epicentre of the quake was stated to in Hindu Kush region in Afghanistan.
