Mayor assures modern sanitation system for capital
Islamabad – Mayor Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz said that proposals had been invited from national and international firms for use of modern technology of sanitation system in the federal capital.
He was of the view that the CDA sanitation directorate was one of the most-important formations of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) which ensured cleanliness of the city on daily basis. “Due to its important role, efforts are being made for introduction of latest sanitation system in line with modern technology, which would not only work in urban area but also in rural areas of the federal capital,” he said while chairing a meeting to review performance of the directorate.
He expressed the hope that positive results would be achieved with introduction of latest sanitation system in Islamabad. As compared with the old sanitation system, modern technology of sanitation would yield better results and would also help save precious time.
The mayor said that MCI consisted of elected members from all areas of Islamabad and they were well-aware of the problems of their respective areas.
He further said that importance was being given to the suggestions and proposals related to the development of the city, civic amenities and sanitation system from these elected representatives of MCI.
The mayor was apprised that 165 complaints from citizens were received in sanitation directorate during November, referred to the concerned formations. He was told that 105 out of 165 complaints were resolved on urgent basis and rest of the complaints would be addressed within the stipulated time.
The mayor said that cleanliness drive under “Clean and Green Islamabad” was initiated under which special focus was being given to the neglected areas of Islamabad.
