‘Dharna party’ to see its worth in 2018 polls: Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD – Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Maryam Nawaz said that “Dharna party” would see its worth in 2018 general elections as on the basis of remarkable performance Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would return to power even with more convincing victory.

Talking to central party coordinator in the AJK Sardar Ibrar Riaz Khan, Maryam said the PML-N-led government in the AJK was successfully implementing the development agenda given by party chief former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and by the conclusion of AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider mandated term the people of AJK would see for themselves the real change in the area.

She said that no one could match the political vision of Nawaz Sharif and that was the reason the people of Pakistan had elected him prime minister of the country thrice as they knew it well that only Nawaz Sharif could resolve the problems and challenges confronting them.

Maryam said that Kashmir cause was close to the heart of the PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and that was the reason he wanted to bring the AJK at par with the developed areas of the country.

“It was the PML-N governments, which had raised the Kashmir issue at international level with full force and referred to the efforts being made by the PML-N in three stints in power including the Lahore Declaration and the recent address of Nawaz Sharif at the UN General Assembly,” she said.

Maryam said that when the PML-N took over the reins of power the national economy was in a shambles, terrorist attacks were rampant and people across the country were facing 12 to 18 hours of load-shedding a day.

But today, four years down the road the country’s economy was back on track, which was acknowledged by international monitors, law and order situation was far better, economic reserves were satisfactory, while load-shedding was brought down to a naught.

She said that the PML-N would be going to the masses in the next general elections with their marvellous track record of development and service to the masses and would return to power even with a greater majority.

Maryam said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had nothing to their credit and the only thing people knew about them was the 126-day sit-in, which had caused enormous loss to the national economy.

She said that the dream of Imran Khan to become prime minister of Pakistan would remain a dream as he had to his credit politics of disruption, which was totally rejected by the people of Pakistan.
