Nation reverently salutes Quaid-i-Azam

SIALKOT/GUJRANWALA/OKARA/ HAFIZABAD/KASUR – The nation celebrated the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with traditional zeal and enthusiasm here on Monday.

The day dawned with special prayers in the mosques for the national peace, prosperity and solemnity. Special cakes- were cut held in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Badiana, Chawinda and surrounding areas by the PML-N, PTI, PPP, PML-Q and other parties with the participation of a large number of people.

They organised various programmes including seminars, speech contests, conferences and sports events to celebrate Quaid-i-Azam’s birthday with great fervour and enthusiasm.

The speakers paid glorious tributes to the Founder of Pakistan besides highlighting his hectic life, ideas and achievements which led to the emerging of the separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah inaugurated a championship. A large number of body builders participated in the contest. President Sialkot District Body Building Association Muhammad Afzal Mansha and Mian Zeeshan Rafiq (Political Secretary to Punjab Chief Minister) were also present.

Earlier, they cut a birth day cake during a special ceremony held at Daska city. A large number of the PML-N workers attended the ceremony.

The day was observed in Gujranwala with full zeal and zest and people paid tribute to Quaid-i-Azam on his birth anniversary. National flags were hoisted on all government buildings. Various ceremonies were held by various social and political parties including PML-N, PML-Q, Sunni Tehreek and others.

Two ceremonies were held at the District Jail. The Quaid-e-Azam Day and the Christmas were celebrated which were also attended by Superintendent Noor Hassan Baghela, Deputy Superintendent Shaheen Azam and other officials. They cut a cake with Christian prisoners and distributed sweets to them. In the celebration, they were given awareness regarding the struggle of the Quaid for obtaining Pakistan, and idea of Pakistan.

Various programmes were held including seminars, speech contests, sports events and cake cutting ceremonies to mark the Quaid-i-Azam Day. Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, CPO Athar Ismail and MPA Haji Khalid Saeed cut the birth day cake.  Resident Director Faisalabad Arts Council Sofia Bedar, Admn Officer Riaz Anjum, other officers, school children and elite of the town were also present.

Later, a photographs exhibition was inaugurated at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium Art Gallery. More than 100 historical, rare and exceptional photographs were displayed in the exhibition. They took keen interest in the historical photographs of the Founder of Pakistan on different aspects of his life including the activities in the Pakistan movement.

The deputy commissioner said that the spirit of celebrating the birth anniversary was to pay homage to the greatest leader of the Subcontinent.  He said that we should keep remember Quaid’s services in Pakistan movement for achieving independent. He said that the nation should follow the golden principles of Quaid-i-Azam to bring the country on the heights of development. He appreciated the efforts and arrangement of Faisalabad Arts Council regarding holding of important photographs exhibition on the day for the awareness of future generation about the life and achievements of the Founder of Pakistan.

The CPO said that the best way to pay tribute to the Quaid-i-Azam was to follow his deeds and words that he left behind giving us direction as a nation. He expressed his pleasure to see the rare pictures of Quaid-i-Azam and said that Faisalabad Arts Council provided the opportunity to him and other county fellow.

The MPA said that the present govt had taken a lot of measures to materialise the dream of founder of Pakistan in the field of education, health and other social and economic sectors. He termed the exhibition very significant and important for the new generation to get the knowledge about the life of Quaid-i-Azam.

RD Arts Council Sofia Bedar thanked the guests and said that these photographs on different activities of his personal and political life had been preserved in original shape as those were great historical and heritage assets of the nation.

Meanwhile, different programmes were held under the arrangements of educational and social institutions to pay rich tributes to the father of the nation. The city was decorated with the postures, steamers and banners pertaining to the sayings and deeds of Quaid-i-Azam. The public and private buildings were tastefully illuminated to mark the Quaid-e-Azam Day. Similar programmes were also held at the tehsils and town levels.

In Daska, the body building championship was held under the auspices of District Body Building Association.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Pakistan Postal Services Corporation Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah inaugurated this district level championship. A large number of the young body builders from Sialkot district participated.

In Kasur, a cake cutting ceremony was held in Nawa-i-Waqt Kasur office, Baldia Chowk, in connection with the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Nizampura Union Council Chairman Mehr Latif, The Nation correspondent for Kasur district Ashraf Mehr, Kasur Press Club Chairman Haji Sharif Mehr, renowned social worker Usman Awan Kasuri and others cut the cake.

On the occasion, speakers threw light on the life and services of Quaid-e-Azam. They vowed to make all-out efforts according to Quaid’s vision for the development of Pakistan. They said that Quaid-e-Azam is the best role model for the people of Pakistan. “It is due to his untiring efforts that we are breathing in a free and an independent country,” they pointed out. The nations who do not forget their heroes and adhere to their teachings reach the heights of prosperity and progress. “The Pakistani nation is also committed to materialise the dream envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam which is developed and prosperous Pakistan.

In Hafizabad, the day dawned with special prayers for the integrity and solidarity of the country, early liberation of Kashmir and Palestine, elimination of extremism and terrorism and world peace in almost all the mosques across the district.

A large number of functions were held wherein glowing tribute was paid to father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for making history by creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent after a great struggle. The speakers called upon the masses particularly younger generation to pledge to work hard and maintain unity and discipline to make the country invincible fortress of Islam. The students sang national songs to pay tributes to the father of the nation. The schools and college students also performed tableau.
