Nawaz celebrates 68th birthday

LAHORE – A number of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and workers congratulated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on his 68th birth anniversary. On this occasion, a multi-floor cake was cut by Sharif at his Jati Umra residence.

On social media, Sharif also received a number of greeting messages. A cake cutting ceremony also took place at ruling party’s Naseerabad office.  Addressing the party leaders and workers, Sharif thanked them for their best wishes.

He highlighted the difficulties people faced and sacrifices they rendered for creation of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and said it was time to make the country stronger in all respects.  He said every institution needed to work within its constitutional ambit to achieve this objective. He also spoke on the Supreme Court verdict against him and said it was a double jeopardy, which was not permissible under the law. He said the country would be strong when institutions would stop crossing the lines.
