Parents seek govt help for son’s treatment

KAMALIA-Ahsan Khan, 15, son of Kamalia Union Council secretary Mohsin Khan has been suffering from heart malfunction. Ahsan Khan is a student of 9th class and is the only son of his parents. Some time back, he had suffered from severe pain in his chest and was taken to a doctor. The doctors told his parents that Ahsan’s heart was functioning only 23 per cent and heart transplant was the only treatment. The operation is not possible in Pakistan. It is done in United States or in some Western countries. It costs around Rs2.1 billion.

Mohsin Khan, father of the boy, is unable to arrange such a big amount for treatment of his child. Talking to media, he said that Ahsan is his only child and is very dear to him and his family.

He could have never thought of his son falling ill to such a grievous illness. Ahsan’s mother pleaded that she is greatly worried about his son’s illness as they have no resources to arrange money for their son’s treatment. Doctors say our son’s illness has reached the last stage and it is very important to conduct an immediate surgery,” she told The Nation.

Ahsan Khan’s parents have appealed to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif to arrange treatment for their son so that his life could be saved.
