Fazl rules out alliance against PML-N govt

MULTAN-JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman declared on Wednesday the Muttahidda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) was being activated for the coming general elections, and not against the PML-N government.
Talking to the media here at the residence of Khawaja Ataullah Taunswi, he added that the government had accomplished its term and if any new alliance was made, it was meant for the elections. He said that he was not making any alliance against government rather holding meetings with Ulama and Mashaikh for the elections. “Even if any anti-government alliance is made, it will achieve nothing,” he claimed.
To a query, he said that whether there was a sit-in in Islamabad or anywhere else in the country, the JUI had nothing to do with it. Answering to another question about Allama Tahirul Qadri, he said that confining politics to one incident was not right. “One faces obstacles in politics but he should cross them and move forward,” he suggested. He said that the JUI-F was not a party on the issue of merger of FATA, asking the government to resolve the issue with the consent of residents of FATA and Jirga.
He warned that any controversial decision imposed on the residents of FATA by Islamabad would always remain unpopular. He was of the opinion that if the residents of FATA had different opinions, they should sit together for a consultation and develop consensus.
