Gilani says defiant Nawaz created constitutional crisis
MULTAN/TOBA TEK SINGH/NOORPUR THAL-Former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that anti-judiciary movement by disqualified Nawaz Sharif has plunged the country into serious constitutional crisis.
Talking to a delegation of PPPP workers led by Abdul Haq Khan here at his residence on Wednesday, he added that the failed policies of the rulers exposed the country to serious hardships. He said that the PPPP rendered tremendous sacrifices for democracy.
He warned that the PPPP would prove an iron wall in way of those hatching conspiracies against democracy as it was the party which formed constitution and now safeguarded it. He reiterated that the future of the country and nation was linked to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and he had stepped into the ground to accomplish the mission of his mother and grandfather.
He said that Bilawal House would soon be established in Multan and it would benefit common man. He said that the PPPP revived itself after reorganisation and it would sweep coming elections.
Noorpur Thal leaders said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is adherent to the political ideology of its founder and believes in democratic stability.
Talking to the media, local PPP leader Sheikh Kamran Latif said termed Benazir a great leader of the subcontinent. He said that Bhutto family rendered unmatchable sacrifices for democratic stability in the country. He claimed that the PPP has always fought against anti-democratic forces. Terming the PPP party of martyrs, he said that Benazir Bhutto had made a history by sacrificing her life for democracy. Sheikh Kamran claimed the current PPP leadership aims at fulfilling the dream envisaged by the party’s founding fathers which is the supremacy of the rule of law. He added the PPP would continue its struggle to strengthen democracy in the country. He also vowed to go all-out for the prosperity of Pakistan. He also vowed to strengthen the party network in Noorpur Thal tehsil. “The masses have tired of false promises of the rulers and are defecting to the PPP,” he claimed.
The PPP office-bearers observed the 10th death anniversary of late Benazir Bhutto here on Wednesday. A delegation comprising PPP activists had gone to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to attend the party gathering at there at her tomb.
In their speeches, PPP district general secretary Mian Islam Abid, secretary information Zulfiqar Ali Nasir and other party leaders paid rich tributes to Benazir Bhutto for her services for the poor and downtrodden people. They also showered the former PPP chairperson with praises for her efforts for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and restoration of democracy in the country. They claimed that the PPP would form government in the centre and in provinces in the upcoming general election.
