Security forces pick two suspects from Kallar Syedan

rawalpindi – The security forces carried out targeted operation in Mohalla Ghausia in Kallar Syedan and took two persons into custody; sources and eyewitnesses told The Nation on Wednesday.

The security forces also seized a laptop, computer and other belongings from the house of the two persons. The two detainees are said to be real brothers and were identified as Asghar Khan, 40, and Shehzad Khan, 36, hailing from Mardan.

The sources said that the operation was conducted in light of information of an intelligence agency.

According to the sources, the personnel of security forces raided the house at 11 pm on Tuesday.

The security forces shifted the arrested persons to undisclosed location for further interrogation.

“Asghar Khan was associated with a social media website as reporter and was also running a battery shop in Mureed Chowk in Kallar Syedan,” an eyewitness said. He said that Shehzad Khan was settled in Saudi Arabia and had recently returned to Pakistan. He said that the reason behind the operation was not known to any villager.

Superintendent of Police Saddar Circle Iftikhar ul Haq, however, when contacted for his comments, said that police was not taken on board by the security forces before carrying out the operation. He said that family members of the arrested persons had also not reported the matter to the police. “Usually, the intelligence agencies, Pakistan Army and Rangers keep such string operations secret and do not share information with the police,” he said.
