Tourist centre established at Said Pur village

islamabad  – Mayor Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority Sheikh Anser Aziz said that natural beauty and green character of Islamabad had great attraction for tourists.  

Tourists from all over the country visit the capital and the newly-established tourist centre would help guide them, the mayor said while inaugurating tourist centre established by environment wing of the authority at Said Pur village. Executive DG Environment CDA Sanaullah Aman and senior officers of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA were also present on the occasion. 

The mayor said that people of different countries were residing in the federal capital and they liked to see different sites and recreational places of the city. For promotion of tourism, he added, the MCI was providing state-of-the-art facilities to the visitors. 

He further said that historical Saidpur Village located at the foothills of lush green Margalla attracted a large number of tourists. He said that the aim behind establishment of the centre was to provide information about this historical place and to create awareness regarding its historic significance among the visitors.  

The mayor said that ancient temple located in the village had its own attraction while the archives gallery established by the MCI was being visited by a large number of tourists on daily basis. He said that pictures depicting different phases of development of the capital city had been displayed at the gallery. 

Sheikh Anser visited the archives’ gallery and directed the concerned officers to further upgrade the facility and display pictures of other historical places of the city as well.  

Earlier, the MCI Executive DG Environment Sanaullah Aman briefed the mayor about the steps taken by the environment wing to promote tourism in Islamabad. He informed the mayor that the tourist centre had been established to facilitate the tourists, adding that comprehensive details about the historical places had been provided while maps of different locations had also been placed at the centre. He informed him that that well-trained staff had been deputed to guide the tourists.
