DG ISPR shouldn’t have commented on Saad’s statement: Shah
Opposition Leader of the National Assembly and Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Khursheed Shah, said that there was nothing objectionable in the recent statement of Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, which was disapproved by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Thursday.
While addressing media in Lahore today, Khursheed Shah said he looked into Rafique’s remarks, delivered on December 24, and did not find them controversial.
Opposition leader stated that DG ISPR should not have commented on the matter. He also added that Rafique’s comments did not contain anything to warrant such a reaction from the army spokesperson.
In yesterday’s press conference DG ISPR termed the statement of Railways Minister and a key member of the ruling PML-N Khawaja Saad Rafiq about junior officers’ apparent lack of commitment to armychief’s orders as “extremely irresponsible and unwarranted.”
“The Pakistan Army is a disciplined institution and the army chief’s orders are followed without question,” he added.
