Russia keen to boost trade with Pakistan

SIALKOT – Russian Embassy trade representative Mr Yuri M Kolzov has stressed a need for promoting strong trade relations between Pakistan and Russia.
He said that Russia wanted to develop strong trade relations with Pakistan. He stated this while addressing a meeting held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). SCCI Vice President Abid Ahmed Khawaja presided over the meeting.
The Russian envoy discussed the matters of mutual interest with SCCI officials. He also gave a detailed briefing about the growing trade opportunities in Russia and scope of joint ventures in different trade sectors between Russia and Pakistan.
He said that the time was high to promote trade activities between the two countries. He also stressed a need for enhancing the private sector interaction and mutual collaboration crucially important to promote the bilateral trade.
EXPORTED ROBBED OF RS5M: Two unknown armed motorcyclists looted Rs5 million at gunpoint from a local exporter Muhammad Saleem and his car driver Riaz. They also injured them seriously on resistance during a broad daylight dacoity incident occurred near the Railway Crossing Gate at Daara Araaiyaan locality. Saleem was going towards a housing society located along the main Daska-Sialkot Road after drawing Rs5 million in cash. The two unknown armed motorcyclists started chasing them. The accused halted their car and started looting. The robbers snatched Rs5 million from the exporter and shot at him and his car driver. The accused fled away on the motorcycle. Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital Sialkot in critical condition with bullet injuries on their legs.
ARRESTS: Wildlife Department teams arrested 19 hunters red-handed while hunting prohibited and migratory birds at different places. Wildlife Department Inspector Talib Hussain told the newsmen that the department had fined Rs160,000 to accused Ahmed Ali, Ahmed, Manzur Ahmed, Ali Akbar, Usman, Naveed Ahmed, Saleem, Akbar, Sharif, Haider Ali, Jamshaid, Masud Ahmed, Anjum, Saeed, Liaqat Ali, Aslam, Zeeshan, Akram and Imran.
