LHC official seeks SC help

LAHORE – An official of Lahore High Court Saturday appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take suo motu notice of what, he alleged, out-of-turn promotions in LHC and revengeful inquiry against him for highlighting irregularities.

Muhammad Akmal Khan, being a whistleblower, moved his application to the Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court, stating that he had been serving the Lahore High Court for last 24 years with clear and unblemished record.

But, he said, he had been awaiting his promotions for last eight years. He said that many junior officials had been promoted. He submitted since he raised voice for his rights and moved a constitutional petition in the Lahore High Court, a baseless inquiry against him was launched.  The official mentioned another petition against the appointment of LHC registrar ‘in violation of rules’.  Khan alleged that the LHC CJ also tried to influence him to back off.  He said he has been facing ‘false’ inquiries by the LHC authorities for raising voice for justice. He said he had lost trust on’ dispensation of justice from the high court and appealed to the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take suo motu notice of the matter.
