MPC reflects opponents’ electoral fears: Sana

LAHORE – Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said PAT Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri is following a political agenda and his multi-party conference is a part to meet that political end.

Reacting to the PAT-organised conference, the law minister said that it was because of the mounting fear of PML-N’s victory in next elections that their opponents were joining hands against them.

In a media interaction the minister revealed that PAT had reached out to the government to get compensation for the bereaved families of the Model Town tragedy.

He said the Punjab government had announced Rs100 million for the bereaved families but PAT demanded more than that.

Sana claimed they had held meetings with the PAT leader Khurram Nawaz Gandapur in this regard, while he himself visited Gandapur’s residence. But, his version was being contradicted now, he added. He said if the matter of compensation was not there why he would visit the PAT leader in the first place.

The minister confidently said that the PML-N is sure to return to the power again after the election 2018 under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, whose services to the country and the nation are exemplary and singular.

He denied the impression that the aim of Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif’s visit was to involve the Saudi kingdom in Pakistan’s internal affairs and secure some kind of NRO for the Sharifs – who are facing grave corruption cases.

The minister claimed that issues relating to the Muslim Ummah were under discussion in Saudi Arabia and it was something the details of which could not be shared publicly.
