Transgender person shot dead in Wah Cantt
Rawalpindi – A transgender person was killed, while his driver sustained serious injuries when a gunman riding on a motorcycle opened fire on a car at Garden Bridge, informed sources on Thursday. The deceased victims were moved to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital where the deceased was identified as Khyber Shehzad alias Bubbly and injured as Muhammad Usman, they said. The firing incident took place within limits of a Police Station (PS) Saddar Wah Cantt, they said.
Heavy contingent of police rushed to the crime scene and collected evidences besides recording statements of eyewitnesses. A good number of transgender persons also reached at THQ Hospital and mourned the death.
Police are grilling scores of suspects after filing a murder case, according to a police spokesman.
According to details, Shakil Ahmed, hailing from Taxila, lodged a complaint with PS Saddar Wah Cantt stating his brother Khyber Shehzad aka Bubbly was travelling with Adeel (Simran), Ali (Bunty), Amjad, Badal (Nimra) and Usman in a car when two persons on a motorcycle appeared from somewhere and one of them namely Usama opened firing on the car. Resultantly, Khyber Shehzad alias Bubbly was killed while driver Usman suffered bullet injuries.
The attackers managed to escape from the scene, the applicant said. He told police the reason behind armed attack on car of his brother by the two men was a fight between Arshad (Khushboo) and Bubbly some days ago. He alleged Usama launched an armed attack and killed his brother on behest of Arshad (Khushboo) and asked police to register case against them. Police, while taking action, lodged a case against killers and started investigation, sources said.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident saying scores of suspects are being questioned by the investigators for their alleged involvement in the case
