Country fast moving towards economic development: CM

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the opposition is misleading the people about the economic development in the country. 

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the CM expressed the satisfaction that marked improvement had been witnessed in the stock market and other sectors. 

 “A decrease in the prices of essential items has also been recorded; the wheel of the industry is moving fast and the agriculture sector has recorded phenomenal growth”, he observed.   He, however, regretted that the economic illiterate opposition was busy in point scoring about the national economy. 

“As a matter of fact, this gang is bent upon obstructing the economic development of the country.  Pakistan is fast moving towards economic development and agitational politics would be equal to enmity with the country”, he stressed.

The CM reminded the Opposition of its failed plans of long march and resignations saying that the rapid economic development had unnerved them. “The dream of a new Pakistan is being materialized. All conspiracies of the opponents will be foiled, and Pakistan will continue to move forward”, he said.

CM directs deptts 

to remain alert

The Punjab government has put all its emergency departments on high alert in the wake of inclement weather.  In this connection, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has directed the administration, Rescue-1122 and other agencies to remain alert to save the lives of citizens.  The Chief Minister has also directed the line departments to monitor the weather situation for starting rescue operations in case of any untoward incident. 

He has also expressed a deep sense of sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in different incidents and extended sympathies to the heirs.  The CM has also directed to provide the best treatment to the injured.   In a related development, the Punjab government is considering launching an air ambulance to cope with different emergencies. 

“The launch of the air ambulance is under consideration; and I yearn to give it a practical shape soon.  This service will help to timely rescue the people during incidents of fire, floods and natural calamities”, the Chief Minister said while talking to noted religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil who called on him in his office yesterday. 

Usman Buzdar further stated that the scope of Rescue 1122 was being expanded to the tehsil level.  The CM said the government was fully focused on the welfare of the people and pointed out that no opponent had ever been victimized. “Serving the ailing humanity is a mission of the government”, he said. Usman Buzdar also lauded the role played by religious scholars during the corona pandemic. 

“The government also acknowledges their appreciable role as they have guided the government on every occasion”, he observed, adding that the role played by the religious scholars in intellectually confronting the menace of fanaticism was praiseworthy.  

Maulana Tariq prayed for the successes of CM Usman Buzdar and appreciated the steps taken by his government for the ailing humanity. “Inner satisfaction lies in serving the humanity”, he said. 

CM condemns terrorists’ attacks in Quetta and Turbat

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has strongly condemned terrorists’ attacks on FC officials in Quetta and Turbat and paid tributes to the martyred officials. 

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, the CM paid tributes to the brave sons for foiling the nefarious designs of the terrorists and termed them as heroes of the nation. 

The martyred have sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace in the country, he said and emphasised that terrorists cannot weaken the strong commitment of the nation as it is fully united to eradicate the menace of terrorism. 

The CM has also extended sympathies to the heirs and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
