Govt determined to take all measures to enhance tax on cigarettes to reduce health cost: Ali Muhammad Khan

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan has stated that the government is determined to take all necessary measures to ensure the implementation of all relevant laws to enhance tax on cigarettes to reduce health cost.

While addressing a seminar in Islamabad, he stated that the reformulation of the health strategy that benefits the deprived groups more and improves the overall health structure is a crucial need of the hour.

He went on to say that the any challenge can be faced by the government to overthrow the big tobacco industry in order to safeguard Pakistani children from harmful effects of tobacco.

He concluder by saying that there is an urgent need to run an awareness campaign on media against smoking.
