PM working hard to control price hike: Sania

Attock – Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is striving hard to mitigate price hike in open markets and steps are being taken in this context. She stated this while visiting grocery stores at Hasanabdal and Kamra for awareness of Ehsaas Ration Program. District President PTI Attock Qazi Ahmad Akbar Khan, Akbar Khan Tanoli, Assistant Commissioner Hasanabdal Zunaira Jaleel, Assistant Commissioner Hazro Zohaib Ahmed Anjum and others were also present. Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania made the grocery store owners aware about Ehsaas Ration Program.

While talking to journalists, she said that Prime Minister was focusing on the people who were less privileged financially. For this purpose Ehsaas Ration Program has been launched and a common man with low income can register himself with his cell and CNIC number. People after registration would receive an SMS from 8171 and in the light of that SMS, they can go to any grocery store to buy essential commodities. Store owner will also be registered with the same URL along with their bank account number and if any store owner does not have a bank account, he can open an account in National Bank of Pakistan.

It is mandatory that mobile number for registration should be registered against the same CNIC number. Dr Sania said that 40 million people have applied for Ehsaas Ration Program, out of which one million have been registered. She further stated that all surveys of Ehsaas program have been completed and those people who are not registered with the program can visit NADRA centers where special counters have been set up for registration. She said that people should not believe in fake calls and SMS and should only follow the instructions received from 8171. She further stated that Covid-19 has gravely damaged economic condition of the entire world and Prime Minister Imran Khan is working hard to lessen the economic burden of a common man.
