6.6-magnitude quake hits Izu Islands, Japan: USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 jolted Izu Islands, Japan, at 12:40:49 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 31.1 degrees north latitude and 142.8 degrees east longitude.
