State lands worth millions retrieved

LAHORE   –  Punjab Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Babar Hayat Tarar said on Sunday that 36-kanal state land, specified for a sports ground, had been retrieved from land grabbers in Mailsi tehsil.

Also, a 29-acre state land worth more than Rs210 million has also been retrieved from land grabbers in different districts of Punjab.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he said that the retrieved sports ground land in Mailsi had been given under the control of tehsil sports officer, adding that the patwari concerned had been directed to submit ‘missal tawaan’ [fine] against the encroachers. The SMBR said that in Liaquatpur tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan, a three-acre one-kanal and 12-marla state land worth Rs8 million had been retrieved in the area of Mouza Allah Jiwaya Lar. In Khanpur tehsil of Rahim Yar Khan, a 18-acre two-kanal and 19-marla state land worth Rs69.61 million was retrieved in areas of Mouza Kotla Miran and Sewa Ram. 

The SMBR said that in Chak No 32/WB of Vehari district, an eight-acre two-kanal and 12-marla agricultural state land worth Rs133.2 million had been retrieved with the help of the district administration.
