Punjab’s male/female teams to feature in Inter-Provincial Boxing C’ship

LAHORE -Punjab’s boys and girls boxing teams will participate in Inter-Provincial U-17 Boys and U-16 Girls Boxing Championship scheduled to be staged in Karachi on Dec 22 to 23. In this regard, more than 60 boys and girls from all nine divisions of the province appeared in the boxing trials at Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Gymnasium Hall on Tuesday. DG Sports Punjab Javed Chohan Tuesday said that the basic purpose of back-to-back Inter-Provincial sports competitions is to provide sufficient opportunities to young talented players of different games to demonstrate their game skills and nurture their potential. He said top boxing teams of the country are expected to participate in the Inter-Provincial U-17 Boys, U-16 Girls Boxing Championship and Punjab’s male and female boxing teams need to exhibit their true fighting spirit in the mega event. He said the SBP is utilizing all resources to promote sports culture in all parts of the province. “We are also going to organise Mir Chakar Azam Rind Games in South Punjab’s two major cities – DG Khan and Taunsa Shareef – from Dec 21 to 31.”
