Opposition got to know about national security policy from newspapers: Sherry Rehman

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman on Wednesday has alleged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of mortgaging the State Bank of Pakistan to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Addressing a session in upper house of the Parliament, Sherry Rehman said the government will now directly accountable to the international authorities instead of the Parliament.

She said that the opposition parties got to know about the national security policy through newspapers. Why this PTI government didn’t bring the policy to Senate for discussion, she asked.

On the other hand, opposition members staged protest during a session in upper house of the Parliament, Senate.

The opposition leaders surrounded the dais of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and chanted slogans against the government of PTI.

The Senate chairman directed the opposition members to go back to their seats and peacefully record their protest.
