ECP appoints new Election Commissioner for KP

ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pa­kistan (ECP) has removed Khy­ber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Election Commissioner (EC) Shariful­lah from his post and appointed Muhammad Raziq as new Elec­tion Commissioner for KP. The outgoing provincial EC Shari­fullah was directed to report to ECP Islamabad secretariat. It must be noted that the new­ly appointed EC was working as the director general of ECP, Islamabad, ahead of his ap­pointment. When asked a se­nior official regarding the sud­den move of ECP, the official said that posting and transfers were the common activities in government departments. The official said that there was no specific reason behind the re­moval of EC of KP.
