Four missing girls recovered
LAHORE – Police on Thursday recovered four girls from a house who had gone missing on January 3. Qasima Bibi of Javed Colony, Chungi Amar Sadhu, got a case registered with Factory Area police on January 5 regarding disappearance of her daughters.
Lahore CCPO Fayyaz Ahmad Dev directed the DIG operations and investigation to recover the missing girls. The Cantonment Division police recovered the girls namely Manahil (14), Mahnoor (10), Maheen (8) and Mehrab (2) from the house of a nearby rickshaw driver, Asghar, with the help of CCTV cameras. The police arrested the rickshaw driver for keeping the girls at his house without informing police or the girl’s mother.
8 people fall prey to road accidents
At least eight people were killed and 514 others were injured in 485 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
According to Rescue 1122, 224 drivers, 29 underage drivers, 61 pedestrians, and 237 passengers were among the victims.
The statistical data showed that 117 accidents were reported in Lahore which affected 121 people, placing the provincial capital atop the list followed by Faisalabad with 42 accidents and 49 victims and Multan with 41 accidents and 44 victims.
According to the data, 376 motorcycles, 77 rickshaws, 57 cars, 35 vans, six buses, 19 trucks and 68 other vehicles besides slow-moving carts were affected in the accidents.
