Hoti accuses govt of by-passing rules, procedures in NA
Mardan – Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Awami National Party central senior vice president and former chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Monday claimed that for the first time in the parliamentary history of the country, the government passed a large number of bills by-passing the rules and procedures of the National Assembly.
Talking to media persons at Mardan Press Club, Hoti said, “Why was the government so quick to pass the bill.” Mayor Mardan Hamayatullah Mayar, ANP Mardan district president Syed Jamal Bacha, district general secretary Haroon Khan, Imran Manduri, Javed Yousafzai and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion. Hoti congratulated the newly-elected members of Mardan Press Club.
Haider Hoti said that the attitude of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker during the National Assembly session was deplorable. He added that most of the Bills even its own ministers hadn’t read out in the assembly that the order from above would have been announced that the bill was passed.
Amir Haider Hoti, “The previous governments used to settle matters with the IMF through negotiations while the present government has handed over the entire State Bank of Pakistan (STB) to the IMF. We raised a voice in the National Assembly that the bill will bring inflation in the country and will compromise national security but the ministers denied it.”
He argued that solution to all the problems lies in clean and transparent elections. Regarding meeting with Bilawal Bhutto, he said that Bilawal Bhutto has requested to participate in the march against inflation on February 27. Hoti said that Awami National Party’s working committee to make a decision in this connection.
Haider Hoti said that the PDM had not contacted ANP leadership to join march. He claimed that the PTI government has become a security risk for the country and has also destroyed the economy.
