Rapid Covid spread leads to eight edu institutions closure in capital

ISLAMABAD   –   The rapidly spiking positivity rate of Covid-19 has led to closure of eight educational institutes in Islamabad. On the recommendations of district health officer (DHO), the district administration of Islamabad has sealed eight educational institutes in federal capital. The list of sealed institutes shared by DHO Islamabad includes Islamabad Model College for Girls F-6/2, Islamabad Model College for Girls G-6/1, Islamabad Model School for Girls (I-V) Shakrial, Islamabad Model College Girls (PG) F-7/4, Islamabad Model College for Boys G-10/4, Islamabad Model College for Girls G-6/2, and Islamabad Model College for Girls Model Town, Humak

8) Islamabad Model School for Boys I-9/4. It must be noted that over 20 cases have been reported in eight educational institutes in Islamabad including students and staffers so far. In a series of tweets, the DHO said that on the direction of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and Ministry of National Health Services,   the Mass Vaccination Centre has been re-opened to help get more people vaccinated with a smooth and quick pace. It must be noted that last day Islamabad and Rawalpindi reported 490 cases with one death which is the highest number of positive cases in last four and half months.

A total of 3,843 tests were conducted in the previous 24 hours in Islamabad.
