Govt to promote Kotli Sattian as new tourist destination: Hasaan

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Information, Tourism, and Spokesperson to the Punjab Government Hasaan Khawar has said that, in an effort to establish and promote new tourist destinations in the province, installation of glimpsing pods and parkway project for tourists in Kotli Satiyan have been completed, while the tourism highway is in the final stages of completion.

These projects will soon be inaugurated by Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, he said.

Hasaan Khawar further said that a single-decker bus service for tourists in three cities of South Punjab in the style of double-decker buses in Lahore is also being launched soon, the scope of which will gradually be extended to other tourist destinations later.

These views were expressed by SACM to Chief Minister Punjab Hasaan Khawar while presiding over a high-level meeting of the Punjab Tourism Department to review the progress on ongoing and future projects.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Tourism Asadullah Faiz, Additional Secretary Tourism, General Managers as well as officials from Archaeology Department and Lahore Museum. Giving instructions on the occasion, SACM said that in addition to opening special rescue and relief centers in Murree in collaboration with Rescue 1122, work be expedited to install digital boards at various places to keep the tourists informed about the weather conditions.

A Tourism Enforcement Force will also be set up to protect and guide tourists, he maintained. He further said that work is underway to open new tourist destinations to take full advantage of the immense potential of tourism in Punjab. Buzdar government is striving to provide all modern facilities at the new tourist destinations as soon as possible, he said.
