Wapda win 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship

LAHORE – Pakistan Wapda won the 16th National Women’s Baseball Championship after beating Pakistan Army by a narrow margin of 13-12 in the final at Jinnah Stadium Gujranwala. The Pakistan Federation Baseball-organized event saw HEC beating Punjab to secure the third position. In the final, Wapda played well against Army and after facing tough fight, Wapda won by 13-12. From Wapda, Madiha and Noorina scored three runs each, Zainab Riaz, Ayesha and Iram Shehzadi scored two runs each while Saiqa hit one. For Army, Asia scored three runs, Humaira Khan and Zahida Ghani scored two and Aqsa, Samya Khan, Rabia Shahid, Ansa and Madiha Batool hit one each. The chief guest of the final was Commissioner Gujranwala Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghuman. PFB Chairman Shaukat Javed, President Syed Fakhar, Syed Manzar Shah DSO Gujranwala and other officials were also present.
