Peshawar - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Sunday took notice of the incident in which the vehicles of the smugglers crushed to death on duty forest guard who signalled them to stop in Akhgram areas of Dir district.
The Chief Minister directed the police to take necessary action for immediate arrest of the elements involved in the incident. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the forest guard martyred in the incident.
He said that stern action would be taken over the incident. He also prayed to the Almighty Allah for the elevation of the ranks of deceased and patience for the bereaved family.
The Chief Minister said that exemplary punishment would be given to the elements involved in the incident. He said, “Full justice will be provided to the heirs of shaheed forest guard.”

Mahmood Khan said that the government would not leave the heirs of the martyr alone and every possible help would be given to the family of the deceased forest guard. He said we will deal with the mafia involved in illegal logging and timber smuggling with iron fists. Forest protection will be ensured in all cases, Mahmood Khan concluded.
Forest official crushed to death by timber mafia in Lower Dir
Forest official of Wari Forest Sub Division Kiramat Khan was martyred on Sunday morning at 03:40am by timber smugglers during checking of truck loaded with illegal logs at Akhagram Forest Check Post.
The Incharge Forest Guard stopped the truck and started searching the vehicle, when all of the sudden, the truck was driven away by crushing the Forest Guard up to 200 meter away. The body of the martyred forest official was later thrown away at Unkar Police Check Post in Lower Dir. The Sub Division Forest Officer Wari and staff rushed to the site, recovered the body and shifted to hospital which was later shifted to his home town at Nehag Kasunu.
According to SHO Khal, police has taken the truck into custody however driver managed to escape from the scene. Search operation for the arrest of offender is underway at Toormang Dara of Lower Dir.
