Four powerlifter sisters awarded scholarship cheque

LAHORE – Taking a major step for the welfare of sports persons under Punjab’s revolutionary Sports Policy, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti awarded a cheque of Rs 480,000 to four powerlifter athletes Sohail Sisters as scholarship for their food supplement at a cheque-awarding ceremony at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
DG Sports Punjab Javed Chohan, Chief Sports Consultant Hafeez Bhatti, Director Staff Syed Omair Hassan and other officials were also present on this occasion. Punjab Minister for Sports said the cheque of Rs 480,000 to four Sohail sisters – Twinkle Sohail, Veronica Sohail, Marium Sohail and Sybil Sohail – is being awarded from Punjab’s Sports Welfare Fund for the preparation of their future competitions. Meanwhile, Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Sports Malik Umer Farooq presided over an important meeting to review sports development projects of Faisalabad division. Malik Umer Farooq ordered a special audit of Faisalabad division Sports Complex. He said that there will be no compromise on the standard of sports development projects.
