Wapda CBA stages rallies across Sindh

HYDERABAD – Workers of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA) staged rallies in Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas in protest against price hike, government plans for privatisation of Wapda and closure of public sector powerhouses.
In Hyderabad, the CBA central president Abdul Latif Nizamani and others, who brought led a big procession that marched from labour hall to local press club demanded payment of disparity allowance to energy department’s employees.He said the closed powerhouses should be made functional and upgraded and Wapda should buy electricity from them. The government should avoid purchasing electricity from private power producers to minimise its expenses, he said.
