PDWP approves schemes worth Rs30.6b in KP

peshawar   -   The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved schemes worth Rs30602 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


The approval was accorded at the 16th meeting of PDWP held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary, P&D Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah.


Project like Establishment of Education City project in Barwand, South Waziristan is also among approved schemes. The project with modern architecture and international standards will have all kinds of facilities: educational institutions as well as residential facilities, playgrounds, amusement parks, science and technology parks, sports complexes and hostels.


The meeting was attended by members of PDWP and concerned departments. The forum approved 27 projects pertaining to industries, higher education, C&W, health, sports & tourism, auqaf, social welfare, home and public health engineering for the uplift of the province.


The approved projects include construction of flood protection work at Muqam Nullah for protection of abadies & agricultural land Mohallah Peer Khel Union Council, Shahbaz Garhi, district Mardan, and Sadakhel and Sol villages from Kurram River and Kasho Nullah, Provision of Viability Gap Fund, utility shifting and resettlement for construction of Swat Expressway (Phase-II).


Establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa University of Technology at Nowshera (Phase-I), FATA Youth Skills Development, construction and purchase of land for Zamung Kor in district Swat, provision of hockey turf at Buner, Swabi and Malakand, grant in aid for free education to students of merged districts, capacity building and skill development of students of Deeni Madaris, skill development of Deeni Madaris students of merged districts, construction and rehabilitation of BT Roas in Tehsil Karak, Takht-e- Nasrati and Banda Daud Shah Karak, improvement/widening and rehabilitation of Chakia Junglan Sundar Kalatian Road and Shahkail Pairan Road district Mansehra,  feasibility study of design and construction of existing steel bridges to RCC bridges including new bridges, feasibility study and detailed engineering design for the road connecting Indus Highway(N-55) at takeoff point Bannu Link Road with Hakla-Yarik Dera Ismail Khan Motorway (M-14) at Kallur, construction of Central Police Office in Peshawar.
