ECC to consider seven-point agenda including G-20 Debt Services Suspension Initiative today

ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet would consider seven points’ agenda in its meeting to be held today (Tuesday) including G-20 Debt Services Suspension Initiative (DSSI).
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin would chair the meeting. According to the agenda, the ECC would consider summary of Ministry of Defence for Technical Supplementary Grant to Pakistan Military Accounts Department for conversion of pensioners to Direct Credit System. The ECC would also take the summary of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training for Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs3,500 million for the project titled “Pak University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies (PUEET) (knowledge Economy Initiative)”. The Ministry of Economic Affairs would present the summary of G-20 Debt Services Suspension Initiative (DSSI).
The ECC would also consider three summaries of Ministry of Petroleum. It would take the summary of Letter of Comfort and re-issuance of existing bank guarantee in favour of Faysal Bank Limited (As Agent/investment Agent) for new finance agreement W.R.T pipeline infrastructure development project LNG-II. The petroleum ministry would also present the summary of re-allocation of OGDCL’s Jhal Magsi gas to SSGCL. It would also present summary of allocation of gas from Mari (deep) gas reservoirs to M/s SNGPL.
The Ministry of Industries and Production would present the summary of Ramzan Relief Package. The ministry would bring some change in the package, which was approved by the ECC in last week. The ECC in its meeting in last week had approved a summary tabled by Ministry of Industries and Production for Ramzan Relief Package 2022. The ECC after discussion approved Ramzan Relief Package 2022 for 19 essential items to be sold at subsidised rates at USCs with total subsidy of Rs8,280 million.
The govt would provide basic food commodities including sugar, flour, ghee, oil, pulses, rice, dates and other during the month of Ramzan.
