Pakistan rout Malaysia to sweep Women’s Baseball Series 3-0

LAHORE - Pakistan women routed Malaysia 15-6 in the third and last match to sweep the Umoja Builders Women’s Baseball Series 3-0 here on Tuesday at Bahria Town.
Brig (R) Khalil Ullah Butt, Executive Director, Bahria Town graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest while Muhammad Tanveer, CEO Ajwa City Gujranwala, was the guest of honor. PFB President Syed Fakhar Ali Shah received the chief guest and others in the presence of head coach Musaddiq Hanif, MBF President Sazali Hussain and other officials of the federation.
The final saw Pakistan women playing better baseball and outpacing the visiting Malaysia team by 15-6. For Pakistan, Humaira Khan, Umm-e-Hani, Rashida Parveen and Ayesha Ijaz scored two runs each while Sidra Riyasat, Madiha, Zainab Riaz, Zahida Ghani, Asia Siddique, Noorina and Maryam contributed hit one run each. For Malaysia, Noor Afrina scored two runs while Alina, Noor Shuhada, Ayesha and Aina struck one run each.
At the concluding ceremony, chief guest Brig (R) Khalil Ullah Butt distributed medals and trophies among the players. Speaking on the occasion, Brig Khalil said: “It is welcome thing to host the International Women’s Baseball Series at Bahria Town Lahore. Malaysia is our brotherly Islamic country and we are very glad to host them.”

After the victory in the series, Pakistan captain Zainab Riaz said: “We are very happy to win the series. The Malaysian team played the best game but our players resisted well and outclassed them to sweep the series. While playing against Malaysia team, we gained a lot of experience.”
Malaysian team captain said: “Our team played well in the series but unfortunately, we could not get the results of the matches in our favor. The Pakistan team played great games and we congratulate them on their success in the series.”
