Khyber - Sixteen trucks loaded with edibles, winter package and dry milk for the children of Ramazan package were handed over to Afghan officials by Al-Khidmat Foundation, Pakistan here at Pak-Afghan Torkham border on Wednesday.
In this connection a ceremony was organised which was attended by Vice-President of Al-Khidmat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fida Muhammad Khan, Media Manager Noor-ul-Wahid Jadoon, Muhammad Waseem, local volunteers of the foundation and border security officials.
In-charge for refugees in Afghanistan Maulvi Faiz Muhammad, Qari Bilal, also attended the gathering as representatives of Afghan government.
Speaking on the occasion, Fida Muhammad said that Ramazan package has been given to the Afghan people to assist them in the holy month of Ramazan.
Maulvi Faiz Muhammad on behalf of Afghan government received the package and thanked for the generous help and said that thousands of Afghan children are facing shortage of food that needs to be addressed forthwith.
He criticised western world for playing silent spectators’ role towards Afghanistan and said it is injustice that all assets of Afghanistan have been frozen that has multiplied their problems.
