IG Punjab instructs police to tighten noose around anti-social elements

Rawalpindi- Presiding over a meeting of the Regional Police Office, Rawalpindi on Thursday, Inspector General of Police Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan while issuing strict orders to the officers said that police should adopt effective strategies against criminal elements and make effective use of modern technology to improve service delivery as well as bind professional criminals.
Police officers of the Rawalpindi region gave a detailed briefing to IG Punjab on the overall crime situation and progress in important cases. IG Punjab gave certificates of appreciation to the officers of Rawalpindi Police for their good performance during the Pak-Australia cricket match. Among the officers who received the award were SP Pothohar Abdul Wahab, ASP Taxila Waqas Khan, ADIG Tahir Abbas, Shafqat Ali SHO Rata Amral, Sub Inspector Police Station Saddar Barooni Saeed Akbar, Muhammad Irfan Constable Rata Amral Police Station, Constable Faisal Police Station New Town, and Constable Anees of Dolphin force. The meeting was attended by RPO Rawalpindi Region Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, CPO Rawalpindi Omer Saeed Malik, DPOs of Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, CTO and Divisional SPs.
IG Punjab said that night patrolling should be increased to curb street crime and supervisory officers should be seen in the field. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that special attention should be paid to the security of mosques and other places of worship during the month of Ramadan. IG Punjab said that strict action should be taken against the organized groups involved in the heinous drug smuggling and a zero-tolerance policy should be ensured against the land-grabbing mafia. Rao Sardar Ali Khan said that the accused in cases of abuse and violence against women and children do not deserve any sympathy therefore supervisory officers should punish the perpetrators of such crimes under strict supervision. IG Punjab emphasized that timely measures should be taken to control kite flying and aerial firing.
The Open Courts should be made truly effective for the immediate solution of the problems of the citizens, he added. IG Punjab said that special measures should be taken to improve the flow of traffic in Rawalpindi city for the convenience of citizens.
