Unemployment is a social problem. With many other problems, Pakistan is also suffering from unemployment. It increases day by day. Many students complete their university education; still, they face unemployment due to several reasons such as poor quality education, the mismatch between worker and firm, lack of soft skills and experience. However, a student may have all qualities, but the government suffers from a budget deficit and cannot give jobs. In Pakistan, the leading causes of unemployment are economic issues, poor quality of education, and a high rate of population.
To begin with, Pakistan faces fundamental issues, which are economic issues such as economic plan fallacy, improper authorization of policies, and budget deficit. The government is not making a solid plan how and where we give more budget. Pakistan makes many policies, but unfortunately, these policies are not appropriately authorized. Similarly, the government faces a budget deficit, which is why it spends less on education than other departments.
Secondly, students are unemployed because they got a poor quality of education like, lack of experienced teachers, not enough equipment available to give practical education in schools, colleges, and universities and copy culture system. Furthermore, students are unable to get skilful and meaningful knowledge. They are just promoted from one step to another. They do not get practical knowledge about their field. Moreover, they are unaware of managing things. As a result, they are a mismatch for a job. They do not have the skills and experience that a firm searches for in their work, and then students suffer from structural unemployment.
The most important cause of unemployment in Pakistan, is the high population growth rate. In the previous year, Pakistan’s population growth rate was 225,199,937, increasing 1.95% from 2020. In 2020, 2% increased from 2019. In addition, the population harms unemployment, for instance, lack of family planning education, lack of woman empowerment, and gives more preference to sons than daughters. For example, a family has six children, and their father is a farmer. He does not get proper education for his children; those children will not get top-level jobs with time. To add with, in Pakistan, there are many places where girls are not getting an education. After some time, they suffer from unemployment and difficult time.
In conclusion, the government of Pakistan should take effective steps to develop a comprehensive plan. It is necessary to build a well-organized and technical institution where skill and technology will be delivered to students instead of copying culture in the same manner. The government needs to make powerful strategies against unemployment. The best way is to give people unemployment insurance and loans to reduce unemployment from country.
