Buzdar harps on welfare mantra as preparations for govt’s ouster set to enter final phase

LAHORE   –   Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card has been provided to every family in Punjab. “Every family holding the card will be able to get Rs1 million annual free health treatment.”

In a statement issued here on Sunday, he disclosed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government allocated Rs400 billion for the Universal Health Insurance Programme and fulfilled its promise to provide free treatment facility to every citizen of Punjab. Usman Buzdar maintained the example of Universal Health Insurance Programme is not found in the developing countries, adding free treatment facility is not a favour to anyone rather it is due right of the masses. He emphasised the PTI government focused on improving health facilities across Punjab. He added people will also be able to get treatment of fatal diseases including cancer through Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card.

The chief minister stated cardiac diseases, hepatitis, liver diseases, TB, AIDS and emergency fracture can be treated free of cost from the private hospitals across the province. He claimed the example of Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card is difficult to find in the history of the country. “The PTI government enhanced its health budget to Rs399 billion and allocated a huge amount for the improvement of the health sector,” he underscored.
