Modi congratulates PM Shehbaz; says India desires peace

LAHORE – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday night congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and said that both the countries should ‘ensure well-being and prosperity’ of people. Modi also said that India and Pakistan could focus on development challenges. “Congratulations to H. E. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror, so that we can focus on our development challenges and ensure the well-being and prosperity of our people,” tweets the Indian premier after PM Shehbaz took the oath of his office.
