KARACHI - Another incident of brutal murder came to light in Karachi on Wednesday in which a girl was murdered by her own father and brother on her refusal to tie knot with an old man.
The accused after killing the girl said that she committed suicide to evade their arrest by the police. But the investigators solved the case on technical basis and arrested the father and son for murdering the girl.
According to SSP West Farrukh Raza, the Uzbekistani father, resident of Gulshan Mamar, betrothed his daughter to an old man against the will of his daughter who used to like another man.
During investigation, the accused confessed that girl’s brother subjected her to torture for her refusal to get married to the man chosen by them. The infuriated brother strangled her with her Dupatta and killed her. Then the father and son duo buried her body and spread the word among neighbours that the girl committed suicide because they refused to allow her to contract love marriage.
The SSP further said that father Shah Mir and son Bahauddin buried the body of the girl in Afghan Basti. During investigation, when some doubts and uncertainties emerged, the police relied on technical basis to solve the case and was able to reach the culprits.
