ANF seizes over 1,539kg drugs in 37 operations; arrests 33 accused

RAWALPINDI – The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out operation against drug mafia and seized 1539.668kg narcotics besides arresting 33 suspected smugglers, informed ANF HQ spokesman on Wednesday.

Of 33, there are two lady smugglers were also held by the ANF while 11 vehicles have been impounded, he said. The value of recovered drugs is said to be US$ 341.903 million dollars in international market.

According to him, the Anti Narcotics Force conducted 37 operations against drug mafia in across the country and seized 1539.668kg drugs. ANF arrested 33 persons including 2 women and impounded 11 vehicles while conducting 37 counter narcotics operations throughout the country. The seized drugs comprised 283.565kg Heroin, 850.911kg Hashish, 102kg Opium, 8.061kg Amphetamine, 19.131kg Methamphetamine (Ice), 252kg Morphine and 24kg Ketamine. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are under process.
