4 TTP militants killed in Bannu encounter

Peshawar – Counter Terrorism Department and police jointly conducted a raid in Bannu district and killed four militants during an encounter on Thursday.

An official of CTD said that following a tip-off, the personnel reached Township area where the armed militants opened fire on the police and CTD team. In retaliatory fire, four militants were killed.

The slain included Commander Noor Mohammad, who had Rs1.5 million bounty on his head, Zia-ur-Rehman, Shah Fayaz and Saud-ur-Rehman belonging to a local chapter of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. They were wanted in cases of target killings, bomb attacks and extortions.

A search operation was underway in the area for the arrest of the fleeing militants till filling of this report. The security personnel also recovered one Kalashnikov, two pistols, one rifle, bullets and some documents.
