ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party yesterday urged the world to save Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik.
Speaking at a joint news conference with Yasin Malik’s wife Mushaal Malik, PPP leaders Faisal Karim Kundi and Faisal Rathore said Yasin Malik could face any punishment by India. “Yasin Malik is being held in a death cell. The PPP has been struggling a lot with regard to Kashmir. The UN has been requested to call special session on Kashmir. Everybody talks about Ukraine, why not about Kashmir. The world must act,” said Faisal Karim Kundi.
He said all political leadership must fight on the issue of Yasin Malik. “The international community must be put under pressure. Those who are going to take a unilateral decision must be prepared,” he added. He said Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed to launch an international campaign and take this issue to the International Court of Justice. “Bilawal Bhutto and his mother and grandfather have been serving Kashmir. They have family sacrifices, they can understand my pain. We are leading the whole movement. We are not even allowed telegrams and letters. There are not many in the world like what is happening in Kashmir. This is not the case with terrorists. Such atrocities are being inflicted on the peaceful movement,” he said. Faisal Rathore said Bilawal Bhutto will be the full voice of Kashmir. “We are confident that Bilawal Bhutto will raise his voice. There is a meeting tomorrow (May 23) and we will bring a resolution in the Kashmir Assembly,” he contended.
